MRI OF CRANIAL NERVES

Indications for testing cranial nerves include neurological symptoms like headaches or sensory/motor disturbances, and conditions such as head injury, stroke, or unconsciousness. Specific signs that may point to a cranial nerve issue are facial asymmetry or paralysis, vision or hearing loss, difficulty with speech or swallowing, dizziness, or changes in smell or taste. These indications help doctors identify problems with the 12 nerves that connect the brain to the head and neck.

Neurological symptoms

Symptoms related to specific cranial nerves

• Vision: Blurred vision, double vision, or a drooping eyelid (ptosis)
• Facial: Facial pain, numbness, or paralysis
• Hearing: Tinnitus or deafness
• Balance: Dizziness or vertigo
• Speech: Slurred speech
• Swallowing: Difficulty chewing or swallowing
• Smell/Taste: Altered or lost sense of smell or taste

• গন্ধ/স্বাদ: গন্ধ বা স্বাদের অনুভূতি পরিবর্তিত বা হারিয়ে যাওয়া
