Indications for wrist MRI scan 

  1. Marrow abnormalities (e.g. bone contusions, osteonecrosis, marrow oedema syndromes, and stress  fractures) 
  2. Synovial based disorders ( e.g. synovitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis, and ganglion cysts) 
  3.  Infections of bone, joint or soft tissue (e.g. osteomyelitis, osteo arthritis )  
  4. Neoplasms of bone, joint or soft tissue 
  5. Carpal tunnel syndrome 
  6. Avascular necrosis 
  7. Nerve impingement
  8. Fractures in children
  9.  Soft tissue masses 
  10. Carpal nonunions 
  11. Occult fracture 
  12. Ganglion cyst 
  13. Ligament tear
