INDICATOIN

  1. Identified mass with indeterminate characteristics following mammography or sonography
  2. where patient wishes to avoid biopsy
  3. Staging for chest wall invasion or lymphadenopathy after cancer diagnosis
  4. Dense breasts with difficult to read mammogram based on visualisation
  5. Palpable mass with negative mammography/sonography
  6. Axillary node metastases with unknown primary
  7. Unexplained swollen breast or breast implant
  8. To check the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy
  9. To check the extent of infiltrating lobular or ductal carcinoma
  10. To check residual disease post-lumpectomy
  11. Postoperative tissue reconstruction
  12. Dense breasts in the high risk patient
  13. For MR guided biopsy
  14. Surveillance of high-risk patients
  15. Contralateral breast screening
  16. Determine extent of disease
  17. Recurrence of breast cancer
  18. Lesion characterisation
